Wellbeing

At our school, student wellbeing and learning go hand in hand. We want every student to feel safe, included and ready to learn. Whether your child needs help with their mental, emotional, social or physical wellbeing, we are here to help them thrive at school and in daily life.

How we support student wellbeing

Supporting each student’s mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing is part of everyday school life.

Every student is known, valued, and cared for at Glenvale School.

At Glenvale School, we are excited to introduce the ‘Positive Behaviour for Learning’ (PBL) framework. PBL is a whole-school approach designed to create a positive, safe, and supportive school environment where all students can learn and grow.

Positive Behaviours for Learning

Our school has adopted the Yellow Tailed Black Cockatoo as our PBL Mascot.

What is PBL?

PBL focuses on teaching students the skills they need to be responsible, respectful, and active members of our school community. Through PBL, students learn how to manage their actions, learning, and look after their personal belongings, helping them succeed both at school and in the wider community.

Teaching and Reinforcing Positive Behaviours

Our staff are committed to teaching students the social and emotional skills they need to be valued members of their families, school, and community. This teaching happens daily in all school settings, including classrooms, playgrounds, and specialised learning areas like the canteen, library, music therapy as well as during community access excursions and on transport.
